Ingredients
Scale
Salmon and Seasoning
- 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)
Sauce and Cooking
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 Tbsp water
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set the salmon aside while you prepare the sauce.
- Preheat the Broiler: Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler to avoid burning the sauce by keeping it away from the top heating element.
- Make the Sauce: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat until the butter melts. Add minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook the mixture for about 30 seconds until the sauce is heated through and fragrant.
- Cook the Salmon on the Stovetop: Place the salmon filets in the skillet skin side down if skins are on. Cook for 3 minutes, basting frequently by spooning the sauce over the top to keep the salmon moist and flavorful.
- Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes. Halfway through broiling, baste the salmon once more with the pan sauce to encourage caramelization. Cook until the salmon is caramelized and reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and garnish the salmon with minced parsley if desired. Serve immediately for best taste.
