Description

This Garlic Butter Steak Bites Recipe features tender sirloin steak cubes cooked to perfection and tossed with flavorful baby potatoes sautéed in garlic, fresh herbs, and a touch of red pepper flakes. It's a simple yet delicious one-pan meal that's quick to prepare and perfect for a satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Potatoes:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb baby red and yellow potatoes, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/41/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Steak:

  • 11 1/4 lb sirloin steak, cut into one-inch cubes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep Potatoes: Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the cubed potatoes, minced garlic, fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary), and red pepper flakes. Cook for 6 minutes until the potatoes are tender but still firm. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook Steak: Discard any burnt garlic and herbs from the skillet. Increase the heat to high and add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil along with 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sirloin steak cubes and sear for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine: Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet with the steak. Stir and cook together for 1 minute to heat through and allow flavors to meld. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking the steak to ensure it sears properly and develops a good crust.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to match your desired spice level.
  • Use fresh herbs for the best flavor, but dried herbs can be substituted using one-third the amount.
  • For extra richness, baste the steak with the melted butter in the pan while cooking.
  • Serve with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
