Description

These Buffalo Chicken Sliders are a delicious and easy game day favorite featuring shredded chicken tossed in spicy Buffalo sauce, creamy ranch dressing, and melty mozzarella cheese nestled between sweet Hawaiian rolls. Ready in just 20 minutes, they're perfect for quick appetizers or a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls
  • 3 cups shredded chicken breast
  • ¾ cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or Frank's Buffalo)
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing (Greek-yogurt based recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella (or provolone, Havarti cheese, divided)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Buns: Without separating the buns on their edges, slice the slider buns horizontally to create a top and bottom half. Place the bottom halves in the center of the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Make Buffalo Chicken Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, and garlic powder until well mixed and evenly coated.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Sprinkle a small handful of shredded cheese over the bottom buns, then evenly distribute the Buffalo chicken mixture over the cheese. Top the chicken with the remaining shredded cheese.
  5. Top and Butter: Place the top halves of the buns over the assembled sliders. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and Italian seasoning, then brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns for flavor and browning.
  6. Bake Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns turn a golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Carefully slice apart with a serrated knife at the seams and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use Greek-yogurt based ranch dressing to add creaminess with fewer calories.
  • Hawaiian rolls add sweetness that complements the spicy buffalo sauce perfectly.
  • If you want extra heat, add more hot sauce or a dash of cayenne pepper to the chicken mixture.
  • Substitute mozzarella with provolone or Havarti cheese for different melty textures and flavors.
  • Slider buns can be prepared a few hours ahead and covered with foil to maintain freshness before baking.
  • These sliders are ideal for game day or quick appetizers and ready in just about 20 minutes.
